Resource comparison, toolchain compatibility, migration effort, performance, domestic replacement notes.
Replacement feasibility comes down to three checks: whether resources in the same class are enough, whether the toolchain is familiar, and how much migration work is involved. PGL22G and Artix-7 are both mid-size general-purpose FPGAs, and Verilog/VHDL code mostly carries over, but IP cores, pin constraints and timing constraints must be redone for the new device.

Teaching, consumer and prototype projects can migrate gradually; when heavy commercial IP or extreme timing is involved, port to a small board first before switching wholesale.
